Legacy Giving

One of the best ways to honor the important role Green-Wood has played in your life is to make a planned gift. Your gift will support Green-Wood in the future and help preserve it for generations to come.

The Pierrepont Legacy Circle recognizes supporters of Green-Wood who have included The Green-Wood Historic Fund in their wills or estate plans. In appreciation of your dedication to the future of Green-Wood, we’ll be pleased to invite you to special VIP events and keep you up-to-date with insider information.

Please contact Penelope H. Duus, Senior Manager of Development, at pduus@green-wood.com to let us know that you have included The Green-Wood Historic Fund in your estate plans and want to be included in the Pierrepont Legacy Circle. You may fill out and send in this form to provide us with information about your planned gift and how you’d like to be acknowledged.

About the name

The Pierrepont Legacy Circle pays homage to Henry Evelyn Pierrepont, a pivotal figure in Brooklyn’s history and a founder of The Green-Wood Cemetery. Renowned as the “first citizen” of Brooklyn—which until 1898 was not part of New York City—Pierrepont is regarded as one of the first city planners in the United States. Today, the Pierrepont Legacy Circle proudly honors those who embody his spirit of patronage and dedication to the future of Brooklyn’s oldest dedicated public greenspace—Green-Wood.
